Our bus loaded
up at 6:00AM this morning and we took off on the road out of the national park.
It had been raining off and on most of the night, and this pattern continued
throughout the day.
We saw some
more caribou, another red fox, a moose, some Dall sheep, and a grizzly bear.
Again, most of these critters were out of phone camera range, but we got good
views through our binoculars.
We checked
into the Denali Bluffs Hotel, and then walked over to ‘downtown’ Denali to find
an early dinner. Downtown consists of a quarter mile long stretch of the main
highway, with a large Princess Cruise hotel on one side of the highway. On the
other side of the road is a wooden boardwalk with several souvenir shops and a
few eateries. We chose a place called the ‘Salmon Bake’, where the elk burger tasted
pretty good. Tonight is laundry night.

Excellent reporting, Steve. I almost feel as if I were there. Too bad you'll just miss the Anchorage Mayor's Marathon on June 22.
