Karen spent
the morning helping Alison and Andrew prepare their house for the party later
that afternoon. This included Karen getting out into the heat and humidity and
using a weed whacker to trim up the walkways and backyard. It’s good to know
that when grandma comes to visit in future, she can also do some yard work!
Alison’s
friends, Margaret and Lauren, were the masterminds behind the planning and
hosting of the party, starting many weeks before the party, and culminating
with lots of work on the day of the party. They made origami animals as
decorations (they will later be used to make a mobile for baby), prepared all
the food and beverages, and led the guests in various games.
Alison and
Andrew were quite moved by all the thoughtfulness and generosity of their friends
and family members (including those who could not personally attend the party).
It was a great day!
